History of the Buckeye

The Buckeye District No. 11 covers the states of Ohio, Kentucky and parts of West Virginia.

The AHEPA Family of District 11 consists of 24 AHEPA, 15 Daughters of Penelope, and 5 Maids of Athena chapters.

Our four orders total over 2500 members making the Buckeye district the largest district in AHEPA Family.

The Buckeye district is a great supporter of the HUD housing projects for senior citizens.

To date, completed housing projects in Ohio are found in Youngstown, Dayton, two in Cincinnati, Canton, Toledo and Akron.

Every year the State of Ohio recognizes Greek Independence Day by flying our Greek flag at the State Capitol.  Our District Lodge officers meet with the Governor of the State of Ohio for this momentous occasion in our Greek history.

The jewel of the Buckeye district is the Buckeye Scholarship Foundation.  The Foundation provides over thirty  scholarships annually to the children of the District.  For more information relating to the Buckeye Scholarship Foundation, Click on the button on the left.

Several of the chapters of District #11 have their own scholarship programs, which provide additional scholarships to the children of their members.  District #11 provides approximately $90,000 in scholarships each year through its various district & chapter scholarship programs.
